One Liter of Tears-by Daemonneko


One Liter of Tears is about the life story Aya a girl named Aya (Erika SAWAJIRI) who got an incurable disease at the age of 15. This disease causes her having trouble picking things up, and trouble sensing the distance to objects. Later she will become unable to write, walk, and talk. Eventually, she will be bed-bound and unable to do almost anything. No cure for the disease. However, she is cheerful and not discouraged with her unlucky life. As the story progresses, she experience many pain, but she never give up. She lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The original story is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled "One Liter of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies. Aya's only wish was "to live." By carefully depicting Aya's earnest wish to live, and the love of her family, friends, and lover, the drama, "One Liter of Tears" wishes to deliver her simple but strong message: "Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
